what A day...

it's a memorable day ever in my whole life.... it's such a hard feeling from the bottom of my heart and for him ( I believe). I never thought that I will say such a thing...."We've been together for so long but then I don't know how long exactly we go out as couples".... I know it is very hurt.... it hurts me so deeply....

Distances really keeps us apart... It needs strength and trust from both of us..... I don't know how long I can hold on to it.....one year? two? or lifetime?

Sometimes when out there, seeing people 2 by 2.... have you ever wonder how I feel? Or ever wish I was there with you?

Or I think it is time for me to be strong again.... strong to be alone again....That is the much I can do....

Time past so fast... 5-years is just like yesterday... When I first went for an interview becoming a flight attendant... Day by day has gone and now reached the 5-years contract with the company...

All these 5 years have filled up my life with sweet, sour, bitter and spicy... all the tough people to be handle, funny people to share with, boring people to be bored with, fierce people to be face!!! Well this job have change my whole life. I use to be a fierce looking person but now I put on the smile most of the time...

I really enjoyed all these 5 years and can't wait for the company to call me back for service...

When you made a decision in getting married, it's actually suppose to be an exciting. But it is actually the beginning of the NIGHTMARES!!!

Well the nightmare become worst if your fiancee/fiance is in oversea.......

1)Submitting application need to be done by the couples - Unable to proceed.
2)Choosing wedding rings/band - unable to decide.
3)Choosing wedding gown and dresses - Unable to get the opinion
4)Buying goods for the wedding - Unable to get the agreement

From all these will end up lots of arguement...

So who say wedding is something to be happy about... I think it should be worry about....

Life In Saudi!!!

Beginning of August... I am roster to fly in to a boring country.. Saudi Arabia... It's a very conservative Islamic country. Women who need to dress in their "Arbaya".

This is how an arbaya look like... it just doesn't suit me!!!

This is not the worst part as covering the head.. Which i am not going to do that!

Hahaha..

I just stay in my room with my best friend "Dell". She keeps me accompany for these 2 days. Really don't know what I am going to do without her!

And come to the worst thing is..... NO PORK! NO PORK!! NO PORK!!!

Can't wait to go home...... :(

~Simply Spaghetti~

I stepped into the kitchen today to cook for a simple dish for myself… Spicy Spaghetti !!!! Well the ingredient is very simple:

For 1 person
1 Tomato (cut into cubes)
1 Big Onion (sliced)
15grams of Dried Shrimp
2 tablespoon Tomato Puree
2 tablespoon Crispy Prawn Chilli
2 teaspoon Chilli sauce
2 teaspoon sugar
50grams of Spaghetti
Chilli flakes for garnishing.

My method of cooking:
Boil the water enough to cover the spaghetti with some oil and salt.
Cook it until the spaghetti is soft (approx. 10mins)

For the sauce
Add in oil. Put in the slice big onion and fry it tills fragrant. Add in the dried shrimp and stir. Then put in the tomato puree and crispy prawn chilli. Add in the chilli sauce and sugar to taste. This varies according to the level of spicy. Finally add in the tomatoes cube and stir. The sauce is ready by now.

Drain up the spaghetti into a plate and place the sauce on top of the spaghetti. Final touch is sprinkling some chilli flakes that add up some flavors to it.

Yum yum yum…. Ready to dig in…

Bad Service and Food Nominees - Hee Lai Ton

We have been going to have our dinner in this particular restaurant in whatever functions. It is because their food and service are very well… But we were surprise that we were treated so differently for this one particular time.

When we entered the restaurant it is already different from usual time which is normally crowded, these time were empty. We are the only group of people having dinner there. (Like we reserved the whole restaurant).

Then we ordered the dishes. While waiting for the dishes, we just entertain with a television, which compared to last time, we used to have the karaoke system. Times really bad I guess.
After a while, the foods is served. OH MY GOD! For me to see that we were each given a half bowl of rice. I wonder are they going to charge me half bowl price or full bowl price! We start to dig in… When almost come to the mid of the course, the fish is “七星班”. Gosh! It is overcooked and the meat was so rough. It seems to be taken out right from the freezer and being cook without proper defrosting it. The taste is so bad. It feels like eating chicken meat. Even my 2 years old niece also doesn’t want to eat that. It still left half untouched.

We talked to their manager Annie. We explained to her that the fish is so badly done. We requested her to take a spoon for let their chef to try. So she said she will talk to the chef and ask about it. After she went out, and she never came in to give us any explanation on the badly done fish! And we waited and waited.

In the end we finished our meals and paid for the dinner (which the fish is also being counted into the bill). We demand to see her and ask for it. How come she never bothers to tells us anything about the fish and pretending like nothing happen. Is it that if we keep quiet and they will act nothing? And the fish is not a RM1 or RM2 kind of dishes. And we never heard from her after we complain it. That is not a right attitude. Not even a single apology from her on behalf of the chef or the restaurant. (I know it as I am from service line). At that time then she came up with lots of explanation-

1. The chef said that fish from Sabah and when cook, the meat is tough.
2. The lady boss is the person who buys the fish and she already left the restaurant 5 mins ago. ( I believe that when we complain is not 5 mins ago)
3. She is waiting for the boss to come back.

She said if we come back next time, she will compensate us with another fish. We all were so fed-up listening to all those crap. Do you think I will still want to go there again? We just want to leave that restaurant and not going to eat there anymore. For those who are going there to have their dinner… GOOD LUCK!

I won’t recommend it to anyone.

Highest Exchange Rate

Just came back from Kuwait, country with the highest exchange rate. For about USD3.40 you will only get Kuwait Dinar(KD) $1. So some meals will only cost several "cent". Hahahah....

Kuwait notes denomination. KD ¼, ½, 1, 5, 10, 20. For coins in Kuwait currency is called pils. There are 0.01 (1fil), 0.05(5fils), 0.10(10fils), 0.20(20fils), 0.50(50fils) and 0.100(100fils).

(This reminds me where our parents and grandparents used to tell us about their young days... Buying some "kueh" with few cents only.)

Surviving Dubai

This is not a friendly place to me.. What I mean is the environment. It’s summer time now. Highest temperature can go up to 50⁰C. Oh my gosh… how people there can stand with this kind of heat!!

I was in Dubai end of last month which leaves me a great nightmare. I touch down Dubai (DXB) at 0400. Imagine that is dawn and the temperature is 29⁰C. This is still not too bad coz it’s almost like the weather in KL during the noon. Reach my hotel and get ready to take some nap.
Woke up in the noon time and the sun is so hot and the weather reaching to 40⁰C. Isn’t the right and nice time to go out at that time with that hot hot weather. So continue with my sleep and try to hop in to our hotel’s shuttle to go to downtown at 1630.

To my surprise the hotel changes their pickup area for the shuttle. Too bad that I miss that shuttle coz I was waiting and waiting at the hotel lobby and then the shuttle is at another exit. Their shuttle bus is so punctually depart. When I rush to the exit, all I can see is the tail of the shuttle. L So I have to wait for another 2 hours for the next shuttle. (This time cannot miss it anymore).

Since I learn my lesson so I am early this time. Hehehe….

Got off at their drop-off point - City Centre (aka Carrefour). It is a very huge shopping mall. One word to express… “Wah…..” You can shop till you drop. The brands in there like Banana Republic, Nine West, Vincci, A/X, Forever 21, Geox, etc.
One good thing here is they open shops till late… so you can have plenty of time to shop and buy your stuff. But the sad news is shuttle bus ends very early. Taking a cab in Dubai is so expensive. According to my calculation, the fare increase every 12 seconds. Wow… imagine caught in the traffic jam!!!

Taxi expensive, you think you can hop in to the bus? Think again. My friend and I waited under the sun for one hour and we still waiting for bus. Not that no bus pass by that stops. It just that the driver say the bus is full and if he doesn’t allow you to get in, NO WAY you are in the bus!!!! If you are alone (girl) waiting for the bus, very highly you can get in. Good thing about their bus service is the seats between male and female are separated. The first 4 rows in the bus are reserved for ladies. Even if a lady to stand, she has to stand at the ladies session… Very safe!!!
But anyway, the overall process to get a bus is already killing me… No way for me to try that again in SUMMER time… winter maybe I will try that!

For those who are going there during the summer, please make sure u have enough sun block, bottle of water, umbrella/cap, wear long sleeves, wear sun glasses, bring handkerchief instead of tissue…(coz you will be sweating all the time and handkerchief will be more absorbant)…

Food is the life for everyone. To some, they eat to live. But for some they live to eat. They will travel all around the globe to search for foods. As for me, I like to eat and see different foods served in different countries or continents.
My current jobs allows me to travel around and fill my stomach with loads of different food. You can name it what kind of foods there are... delicious, spicy, tasteless, weird, etc.

Today which is 13th June, 2008 falls on Friday. Any weird cases happen to you today?
Is this just an urban legend or some culture references? But some might think that it is just an unlucky day.

Some history you might be interested to know…..

1. There was an explosion of an oxygen tank of Apollo 13, which was on its way to moon. The explosion occurred on April 13, 1970.


2. Columbia Space Shuttle sent into space on 16-01-2003 (1+6+0+1+2+0+0+3 = 13) exploded during reentry and all crew members (including Kalpana Chawla of India) died.


3. UPHAAR CINEMA TRAGEDY CASE (INDIA): A fire took place at Uphaar Cinema building, Delhi (India) on friday 13th June, 1997 resulting in the death of 59 persons and injury to about 100 persons.


4. SADDAM HUSSEIN contain 13 letters (S,A,D,D,A,M,H,U,S,S,E,I,N) and was captured on 13 th December, 2003.

Well this is just a coincidence or it really makes a sense here. Eww… Look into history makes me feel creepy.

Unlucky 13th become famous when Alexander wanted to be a God and accordingly made a 13th statue on the place of his capital. He died and people considered that his will to be a 13th God (12 gods, one for each month were known) was the reason of his death. After that this number was considered as unlucky.
Another legend saying that unlucky 13th famous based on historian, there were 13 people at Christ's Last Supper and Christ was crucified on Friday 13th. So, Friday 13th is considered as Unlucky.

Well people are becoming so superstition because of that… So you will notice the following:
1. People don’t go to work on Friday 13th
2. People don’t held their wedding on Friday 13th
3. People choose not to travel on Friday 13th
4. Most building don’t have floor 13th
5. In aircraft you never see row number 13

Dining Etiquette

Have you ever aware that people observing you on the way we eat and sometimes the food that you eat.

Sometimes before you are ready to order for your dishes in a restaurant, did you look around you to check out what are the nice food other people are having? Or maybe when you walking towards your table reserve, you will look at the foods served on other diner's table. This is very common by this you get a chance to look at the food before ordering it and have the idea of the tastiness of certain dishes. But well sometimes people do it too obviously. I went to eat in a restaurant and I order for a dish. So i began to eat. Suddenly I overheard a girl from next table talking to her friend. "Hey you look, that girl (her eyes are looking at my plate) having a nice dish. I guess I am going to order the dish that she is having." Well I guess, you don't need to tell me that my plate of dish is nice and you going to order it. hahaha...

Sometimes when we get our food, we will start to consume it. But then again... people are watching. :) Especially the following things that people observe.

1. When you chew something with your mouth close or open?
2. When you drink soup do you slurp?
3. When you take out bones from your mouth with hand, cutlery or just spit them out?
4. Do you talk with your mouth full?
5. Drinking water with any sounds?
6. Chewing your food loudly.

So becareful when you eat your food.

Here are some table manners for *you*

Table manners
· Don't slouch against the back of the chair or use your elbows to prop yourself up at the table.
· Wait for the host or hostess to begin eating before you start. It's usually a good idea to wait until everyone at the table has been served before digging in, although the host or hostess may encourage those who have their food to begin if it is a large group and the food may get cold.
· Don't slurp your soup.
· When passing salt, butter or any other requested item, don't pause to use it yourself as you send it on its way. Place it within easy reach of the person next to you rather than passing it along hand to hand.
· If it's necessary to remove inedible items from your mouth, do so politely with your fork or spoon. If that isn't going to work, surreptitiously spit the offending bone or piece of fat into your napkin.

By now you should be wondering, why having a meal have to be so tough. But this tiny minny things leaves a big impressions to someone...

When they just launched the Iphone several years ago, it already caught my attention. But I didn't get one because 3G is not available. Although I hardly use that but not worth buying something that almost the same price but without the additional feature...
